Yumnuts, chocolate rods and Q-Ball.

I decided against doing a weekly blog. Instead, I’ll post whenever something astounding occurs, a great playlist is created or a fantastic chocolate is sampled-something along those lines. Saturday Oct 16th 2010, it was StinkEye and I flying solo in the balloon. I think we briefly had one online listener. Then again, there were 3 great shows going down that night- Rebecca Abraxas on the guitar in Lafayette, Interstate Stash Express in Longmont and Morsoul in Boulder. How unfortunate that people couldn’t be in three places at once while still listening to the Saturday night mayhem that was occurring on Green Light radio.

Other than a few minor sound issues which were corrected thanks to a quick response from Rocky and STC to my SOS email, StinkEye and I managed to get through a two hour show that included sampling chocolate, playing a wide variety of music (guess who’s taking requests on Sat night??) and discussing the news of the strange and bizarre but true. The chocolate we sampled was, unfortunately, nothing spectacular. However the name made us laugh- Yumnuts, cocoa coated roasted cashews. It was a health conscious move that resulted in a so-so reaction from both of us. I put it in the interesting at best category, but I can admit that they could be addicting, simply because they are crunchy and have a nice, subtle flavor. The chocolate taste sneaks up on the taste buds.

Next week, in a rare but bold move,  we will be sampling a chocolate that we have already tired before. This means at least two things: One, we have sampled an unreasonable amount of chocolate over the years and are starting to run out of options in the few stores where we shop, and two, this chocolate that is the first chocolate ever to be sampled on my show twice, must be damn good. I’ll go ahead and say it’s true. So tune in a find out what this outstanding chocolate is on Saturday night.

Speaking of taking requests and good things, a big thanks to Q-ball, who took my request Saturday morning and played dear lover by the Foo Fighters, one of the rare songs by them that isn’t completely overplayed. Don’t forget to catch his show Saturday mornings. He’s always willing to take requests, unlike me on my Thursday Shows, where I insist on shoving new and interesting music in everyone’s ear. However,  as noted before, I’m changing my ways and accepting requests on Saturdays, so at least there’s that.

By the way, I still can’t give away the GLR shirt. Who doesn’t want free stuff? For two months now I have been trying to give this thing away. All anyone has to do is email me. Ggril.kglr@gmail.com , and the tank top is yours. It’s green!
